A Widget is the visualization of a dataset. Visualizations help make sense of the dataset and draw actionable insights. One or more Widgets/Widget types can point to the same dataset.
Widgets can be accessed on the left side panel.
This opens up a Widget side menu with a list of existing Widgets that you can drag and drop on the Dashboard.
The widget side menu settings:
- Allows you to search for Widgets by name
- Allows you to filter widgets based on your Widgets and shared Widgets.
- Creates new Widgets
- Widget side panel settings: This takes you to the Widget Management page.
- Refreshes the Widget list
- Add/manage Widget categories. Widgets can be categorized for easy access and usage. Create a new Widget category and drag and drop the required widgets in the category. This Widget folder can be shared, copied, renamed, subcategorized, and deleted.
Creating a new Widget
Widgets can be created in these ways:
- Via the Widget left side menu
- After creating and running a new Query
- Using our Push Data API.
- From the Widget Management page
- Via the Agent
Via the Widget Menu
To create a Widget:
- Go to Widgets on the left side menu
- Click the + button
- Enter a Widget Name and choose a Dataset
- Click Create Widget
- You may add the Widget to the Dashboard by clicking Add to Dashboard
Create Visualization after Running a Query
To create a Widget:
- Go to Queries on the left side menu
- Click New Query+
- Enter the details and Create and run the Query. On the dataset management page, click Create Visualization.
- Click Save
- Enter the Widget Name
- You may add the Widget to a Dashboard
- Click Go to Dashboard to view the new Widget
From the Widget Management Page
To create a widget:
- Go to the Widgets side menu, click on the gear icon
- Click New Widget
- Enter a Widget Name, choose a Dataset
- Click Create Widget
- The Widget can be seen in the Widget list now
