How do I know whether to use regression or classification for Machine Learning.

Knowi offers two types of machine learning: Regression to predict numerical data, and Classification to predict categorical data. If you are trying to predict the number of sales for the next quarter you would use regression because number of sales is numerical. If you are trying to predict whether or not a customer will pay their bill on time you would use classification because the outcome is either yes or no which is categorical.
